WLAN

LAU offers wireless access on both the Beirut and Byblos campuses. You can connect to the LAU network from your laptop anywhere on either campus. This includes inside buildings, dorms, cafeterias and libraries as well as outside locations. This service is provided in the hopes of improving the flexibility of computing at LAU and to facilitate new ways of teaching.

LAU’s wireless network allows you to access the network without the need for a cable connection.  You can connect your laptop, PDA or other networked computing device.

The LAU wireless network conforms to the 802.11b/g standards and operates at 11 and 54 Mbps.
For security against eavesdropping, the LAU wireless network is secured through the use of encryption for login names and passwords.
